Shibori

Cloth shaped by hand, revealed through color.

Shibori is a centuries old Japanese resist dyeing practice that transforms simple folds, stitches, twists, and bindings into intricate patterns.

Each piece begins as a conversation between cloth, thread, and dye, where the final design remains partially hidden until the bindings are released.

Drawn to the element of surprise and discovery, I use Shibori to explore the relationship between control and chance, creating textiles that celebrate both intention and emergence.
