Shibori - Oogangi

This pattern, Oogangi, represents the V-shape of geese in flight.

Sensei Taka shared ‘Oogangi" means a string of large geese flying in a row. This technique is very popular and I have rarely seen anyone outside of Japan doing this technique. The stitching seems simple, but it is complex. Very valuable technique.’

Sensei was correct. I started this piece and took a completely wrong direction. After a pause and refresh, I was able to find the pattern and afterwards the rhythm came and I finished the stitching in a reasonable amount of time.

I used a Cotton fabric for this piece and dipped it into my Indigo vat 10 times.
